Herbology! Peppermint, native to Europe, is a hybrid plant. It is a cross between watermint and spearmint. So what's your gum flavor?
Trivia: In test tubes, peppermint kills some types of bacteria, fungus, and viruses, suggesting it may have antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
The powerful Mentha piperita is a popular flavoring for gum, toothpaste, and tea. Also used to soothe an upset stomach or to aid digestion. Because it has a calming and numbing effect, peppermint has been used to treat headaches, skin irritations, anxiety associated with depression, nausea, cramps and more.
