Atlanta's best Pastry chefs are featured at Pastry Live Audience members will then sample and vote for their top picks in various select categories.
Atlanta’s best pastry chefs, bakers and more will share samples of their desserts and pastries with our audience in hopes of winning one of Pastry Live’s “Atlanta’s Best” awards. Calling for Atlanta chocolatiers, bakeries and restaurants to share their delicious work with audience members, each establishment’s chef is required to prepare tasting portions of their best pastries and desserts. As it’
s an event run by chefs and for chefs, there is no cost of participation for those involved and one day tickets to the event are just $40 for audience members. Its main focus is to promote Atlanta’s pastry scene to both local and National audiences. Event Producer Paul Bodrogi has stated, “We are looking to get Atlanta pastry chefs the exposure they deserve and to help build the Pastry Community.”

Chef Jennifer Paul is certainly not a newcomer to Pastry Atlanta but this year will be her first after taking over the helm of the pastry program at Canoe, one of Atlanta's long-standing fine dining restaurants. Winners of 2015 "Best Savory Pastry" and 2014 and 2015's Best in Show" at Pastry Atlanta will back to defend their titles. Neal Idnani & his team at Naanstop will again be showcasing their wildly popular samosa made with the recipe passed down by Neal's mom. The pastry shell is expertly prepared and cooked precisely to golden perfection. It is sure to be a showstopper again!

Also returning to Pastry Atlanta this year is Chef Christian Castillo who is representing one of Atlanta newest gems, Atlas Buckhead located at the St. Regis. Having worked under the tutelage of Pastry Live showpiece winners Heather Hurlbert & Alex Hwang early in his career, Chef Christian had a strong foundation from which he developed the bold, creative & innovative style he possesses today. In addition to participating in Pastry Atlanta this year, Chef Christian will be part of the Signature Plated Dessert Competition. We can't wait to see him in action!

Chef Megan Brent has been quite busy since winning the top award in the "Frozen Dessert" category at Pastry Atlanta 2015. She is part of the team at the newly opened JP Atlanta which features New American cuisine. Under the guidance of executive chef Julio Delgado, Megan is beginning to incorporate her new passion for molecular gastronomy into her amazing creations. Chef Megan will again be competing in the "Frozen Dessert" category at Pastry Atlanta 2016 with her "Baked Alaska" featuring banana gelato, passion fruit curd, chocolate cake & brittle. Sounds mouth-watering!
