Many of you know that I spent several weeks during Feb., March and April on Vancouver Island. While there, I was introduced to beeswax food wraps, which have been used in Europe and Canada for several years. I loved using them to wrap my sandwiches, fruit, cookies, etc. as I went on outings, and to wrap leftovers in and out of the refrigerator. I researched the product and decided to make some for my four daughters and sisters. When I got back home, I continued my research, ordered supplies and started trying different methods and ratios of infusions. I think that I have come up with a formula that gives consistent results and decided to pursue it as a business.
Foodie Wraps are premium Eco-friendly, reusable alternatives to using plastic wrap and baggies. I make them from 100% cotton fabric (made in the USA), and infuse them with highest quality organic beeswax, pine resin, and jojoba oil. They are easy to use and created to be durable and long lasting.
I have selected colorful, fun fabrics from which to make my foodie wraps. They come in various sizes that are practical for wrapping anything from a lemon to a watermelon! Food stays fresher longer because of the inherent anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties of the ingredients that slow down the rate of decomposition to maximize the life and flavor of your food. They are easy to clean and last for months. Do not use them with raw meat or fish, and do not use on hot food, hot dishes, or in the microwave as this will cause the wax to melt.
