🌟 Tier 1 Instruction in Action! 🌟

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Brooke Adams’s classroom were fully engaged in an Arts & Letters lesson using Smelly Kelly! 📚

Students used text evidence and illustrations, explored new vocabulary, discussed their thinking with partners, and connected their learning to the five senses. Before writing, students rehearsed their ideas orally using sentence stems to help organize their thinking.

This is what strong Tier 1 instruction looks like—intentional teaching, meaningful student discussion, purposeful scaffolds, and high expectations for all learners! 💙

Our Fourth graders visited Red Top Mountain State Park this week where they learned about the amazing world that lies beneath our streams, explored the habitats and the ways that certain creatures thrive in their watery realm. Students hiked on a trail to a healthy stream and were able to explore ecosystems at the base of the water.

How do Kindergarteners use their senses to experience the world? Through stories, movement, music—and a little bit of tap dancing! 👞✨
After reading Rap a Tap Tap during their Arts & Letters lessons, our Kindergarten students got to see the magic of tap dance come to life! Ms. Jess and Ms. Jordan put on a fantastic performance, and then our very own Kindergarten teachers joined in on the fun with a tap dance of their own! 🎶👏

FCA Monday, September 21!

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is open to all 3rd–5th grade students.

⏰ Time & Location: 7:20 AM in the Art Room
🥣 Breakfast: Students should eat breakfast before attending FCA.
📝 Permission Form: Students must have a signed permission form on file before attending.

Students in grades 3–5 may join FCA at any time throughout the school year. Just turn in a signed permission form before attending.

We look forward to seeing our Wildcats at FCA!
