What a surreal moment seeing the Morning Rise Donuts story on the news. 🥹🍩
When we started making donuts out of our home kitchen, we had no idea how quickly this little business would grow or how many incredible people in our community would become part of the story.
And right now, we’re in a bit of an unexpected chapter.
Our donut orders are currently paused while we work through the next steps of getting Morning Rise Donuts back up and running.
The city has let us know that in order to continue making donuts from our home, we would need to install the proper grease trap. At the same time, we’ve been working toward moving into a commercial kitchen here in Spring Hill, but because of the current sewage moratorium, we have another approval process to work through before we can increase the wastewater capacity needed for our business at that location.
We’ve met with the city, we’re gathering the information they’ve asked for, and we’re doing everything we can to find a path forward.
We’re sharing this because so many of you have supported us from the very beginning, and we really do feel like this community has become part of Morning Rise.
If you know someone locally who has experience navigating commercial kitchen approvals, sewer capacity, grease-trap requirements, or opening a food business in Spring Hill, we would genuinely love to connect with them.
And if you simply want to help us right now, sharing our story means more than you know. ❤️
We are incredibly grateful for the city employees who have taken the time to meet with us and help us understand the process, and we’re hopeful there’s a solution that allows this little donut business to keep growing right here in the community that made it possible.
This definitely isn’t the end of Morning Rise Donuts.
It’s just the part of the story where we figure out what comes next. 🍩🤍
Thank you, NewsChannel 5, for taking the time to share our story and thank YOU, Spring Hill, for giving us a story worth telling.
