šŸŽ€ If ā€œIā€™m just a girlā€ was a cakešŸ©·

I had a lot of fun making this cake! I think the bows are super cute. The bows were long on the reference picture, so I decided not to trim them. I canā€™t remember the flavor of this one lol, but I do remember the bday girl was happy šŸ˜Š

I feel like baking something today, but not sure what yet. Maybe something new or something I havenā€™t made in a while. I really want to make chocolate candies again from culinary school, but Iā€™m too scared lol. Iā€™ll have to take a look at the recipe to see how much work is required before I commitšŸ˜‚ Iā€™d love to make something light and summery with some fresh fruit though soon! Any suggestions??

SpongeBob themed carrot cake!šŸ

I probably worked the hardest on the topper. Itā€™s my favorite part, and I had to turn into a human circuit machine to make itšŸ˜‚ I also remember texting my baking support group about how the letters kept giving me grief. It didnā€™t dawn on me until 12 am to use fondant instead of white chocolate, but I was already in too deep!! This was such a fun theme and I love how it came out!

Cakes actually arenā€™t my favorite thing to bake despite what my page looks like.šŸ˜‚ itā€™s a bit stressful, but I always love the end result. My favorite part about making cakes in particular is analyzing the reference picture and breaking down which skills and tools the baker used to get the final result. SpongeBob Cake Tips for Future Me: Use fondant letters, learn how to use a Cricut, ask for client provided topper. Cake drum was a great idea.

Welp Iā€™m off to go study again. Itā€™s my last year of school and Iā€™ve never felt busier!

Throwback!
This was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting on the inside and Swiss meringue buttercream on the outside for structure. The camera was completely made from fondant so it was very heavyšŸ˜‚. I put dowels underneath it so it wouldnā€™t sink into the cake. Next time Iā€™ll try using Rice Krispies so it wonā€™t be as heavy.
