Playing FB cake photo catch up from the weekend. Make a naked chocolate buttermilk cake with handmade roses for a beautiful wedding. Also made butter cookies with royal icing representing Appalachian State, Penn State, & Auburn.

Three cakes made for a 50th wedding anniversary. Sheet cake- red velvet w/ cream cheese buttercream. First round- vanilla almond cake w/ vanilla almond buttercream. Second round- lemon chiffon cake filled w/ homemade lemon, w/ lemon curd buttercream (my favorite!) All the flowers are handmade with royal icing, and hand painted w/ lemon extract mixed w/ edible gold dust.

This week in the competition, we were asked to make lemon cakes. I made a lemon chiffon cake, filled with lemon curd and lemon curd buttercream. The flowers are all handmade by me. I also made a friend a cake in a teacup planter for her birthday. I thought it fitting with her love of flowers.
