Fun fact: Many sourdough bakers actually name their starters. 🍞✨

Some starters have been passed down for generations and are treated almost like members of the family.

So we’re curious…

If you had a sourdough starter, what would you name it? 👀

(And if you’re wondering why anyone would name flour and water, we might need to do a sourdough refresher next… 🫙)

What exactly is a sourdough starter? 🍞✨

A sourdough starter is a living culture made from just flour, water, wild yeast, and time.

With care and consistency, it grows, transforms, and develops a personality all its own. No two starters are exactly alike.

For many bakers, it becomes more than an ingredient.
It becomes part of a daily ritual.

Feeding it. Watching it rise. Learning its rhythm. Slowing down long enough to create something with your hands. There’s something grounding about it… almost therapeutic. 🤍

Much like Jada herself, many people feel deeply connected to the process because sourdough teaches patience, intuition, and trust.

You can’t rush it.
You have to nurture it.
And when you do, it gives something beautiful back. ✨

That’s part of the magic behind every loaf at Wright’s Daily Bread.

Have you ever cared for a sourdough starter before? 👀

Ever wonder why sourdough tastes so different from regular bread? 🍞

It’s all in the fermentation.

Traditional sourdough is slowly fermented using a live starter instead of commercial yeast, which helps create:

✨ a deeper flavor
✨ that signature tangy taste
✨ a beautiful crust
✨ and a softer, airy crumb inside

Good sourdough isn’t rushed.
Time is part of the recipe. 🤍

That’s why every loaf has its own personality, texture, and flavor.

Are you team crust or team soft center? 👀

Sourdough 🤝 Coffee

More alike than you think…

Both start with something living.
Both take time, patience, and care.
Both get better with the right environment.
And both turn simple ingredients into something people come back for daily.

A good loaf doesn’t rush.
A good cup doesn’t either.

It’s all about the process… the fermentation, the flavor, the ritual.

Different crafts, same soul. ☕🍞

Now we have to ask…
are you a coffee-first or bread-first kind of person? Sound off in the comments! 👀

The first pour. ☕🍞

A warm slice, a slow moment, and something new brewing.

This is what we meant by completing the experience…
and it’s almost your turn to taste it.

Sourdough, coffee, and the kind of ritual you come back to daily.

The Wright Roast is coming soon. 👀

How are you taking yours?

You asked… we listened. 🤍

Last year was filled with growth, community, and more love than we could’ve ever imagined. Because of you, Wright’s Daily Bread was able to rise, expand, and step into something even greater.

And one thing we heard again and again…
what goes better with sourdough than coffee? ☕🍞

So we didn’t just add something new…
we completed the experience.

Introducing the newest addition to Wright’s Daily Bread:
The Wright Roast. ☕✨

Just in time to celebrate someone very special…
our founder, Jada. 🤍

In honor of her birthday, we want to fill today with love.
If Wright’s Daily Bread has ever been part of your story,
share a memory, a moment, or a little “crumb” of love below to make her heart smile. 🍞✨

The story isn’t over… it’s still rising.

Stay tuned and keep checking in for website updates, pre-orders, and everything we’ve been working on behind the scenes. 👀

With love, always.

Everyone has their sourdough ritual…

Some keep it simple.
Some dress it up.
Some turn it into a whole experience.

Our CEO Jada?
She loves hers with a fresh slice and a warm cup of coffee. ☕🍞

Now we have to know…
how do you like your sourdough?

Sweet or savory?
Toasted or soft?
Butter, jam, avocado, or something unexpected?

Tell us your go-to in the comments ⬇️

Virginia, thank you for every loaf, every lesson, and every table we gathered around.

What started as a simple sourdough journey turned into something so much bigger. We shared starters, taught classes, appeared in magazines, on the news, and most importantly… built a community that believed in slowing down and breaking bread together. 🥖

We truly left crumbs of love throughout Virginia.

The story isn’t over… it’s just rising. Stay tuned. 🤍

Virginia will always be part of the recipe.

Thank you for supporting every loaf. 🫂

Reflecting on a few of our highlights from last quarter. We’re so grateful for the recognition and for the community that continues to support Wright’s Daily Bread. 🍞 🥖

We want to send special thanks to Ashburn Magazine, and to Karen Feldman for the beautiful feature, as well as WJLA for highlighting our work and helping share our love for sourdough with more people. 🫶🏾

We’ve been quieter on social media recently, but we’re still teaching and growing at a steady pace behind the scenes. Thank you for being part of the journey. Stay tuned for more to come. ✨

There’s something magical about watching dough come to life 🤍
From that first mix to the final fold, it’s pure patience, love, and a little bit of kitchen alchemy.

Every loaf reminds me why I do this… slow baking, real ingredients, and sharing something made with my hands and my heart.

If you’ve ever wanted to try making sourdough, consider this your sign 🥖✨
Stay tuned, more behind-the-scenes baking is coming 🍞💛
