How about a little fun fact Friday? The name, Suggy Bear, where did it come from? What does it mean? How do you pronounce it? I often get asked what the name is and I often hear it pronounced wrong; so why don’t we just deep dive into ‘Suggy Bear’?!

Let’s start with how I pronounce it. Suggy, it’s like if you were going to say ‘sugar’, but you wanted to put a Y on the end. Shhhugggyyy! I often hear it pronounced suhggy (short u sound) like a soggy cookie. Now that does not sound appetizing. But sugar - Suggy Bear - now that sounds tasty!

How did I come up with the name? Well, actually, it was my husband. When my first born came into this world, her daddy nicknamed Suggy Bear. So, naturally when I started the business four years ago, I named the brand after my first born and since then it just kind of stuck!

Now you know how to pronounce it, where it came from, and how much the company means to me. I greatly appreciate everybody’s support each and every time you order something and I can’t wait to see what the rest of this year has in store. Also sorry second born. Maybe I’ll make a cookie named after you - The Pip!
