Arcadia Cakes For You is officially closed.

This small business idea started out about nine years ago when I started making special birthday cakes for my family and new baby. My family would always encourage me to “open a cake business” but I did not feel like I had the skills until about a year ago. With family and friends’ encouragement and my husband’s blessing, I was able to open Arcadia Cakes For You.

Just within this short year-and-half, my children have grown, joined more activities, and now I have two children in school. Ultimately, our lives have become so busy and full. I’m so grateful for that! With this blessing, I cannot continue to do cakes.

Thank you to my customers, friends, acquaintances, business owners, and even strangers for being so supportive, helpful, loving, and encouraging. Thank you for being my taste testers, business advisors, shoulder-to-cry-on, customers, and celebration buddies. Thank you for your social media engagement too.

Shannon Smith thank you for being my CEO at life! You’ve taught me so much.

I’ve learned so much about myself, cake, other people, and business in general! I do feel more confident in myself too. It’s bittersweet closing this chapter, but I’m excited for the next.
