A personal update from the Blue Eyed Bakery 🤍
It’s with the heaviest heart that I share that I’ll be taking some time away from the bakery after the devastating loss of our son, Callum Timothy, at 21 weeks.
Callum was perfect. We are absolutely devastated and trying to navigate a pain that no family should ever have to experience, let alone more than once.
For those who may not know, the Blue Eyed Bakery was born out of the loss of our son, Oliver, who we lost at 35 weeks four years ago due to knots in his umbilical cord. Baking became a way for me to pour my love into something meaningful while carrying the grief of losing him. This little business has always been about so much more than baked goods. It has been a piece of our story, our healing.
And now, heartbreakingly, we find ourselves walking through this kind of loss again.
Throughout this pregnancy, we kept a very close eye on Callum. Everything had been going well, and we had no indication that anything was wrong. This pregnancy was a literal blessing, and we are still trying to comprehend how something so devastating could happen so unexpectedly again. We are heartbroken beyond words.
Right now, our family needs time to grieve, heal and be together. Because of that, the Blue Eyed Bakery will be taking a pause for the time being.
For my customers, here’s what this means:
🤍 Subscriptions: All current subscriptions will be placed on pause until further notice.
🤍 Outstanding orders: If you have an order that hasn’t been fulfilled, I’ll be reaching out to you directly to issue a refund.
🤍 Questions or concerns: Please don’t hesitate to reach out. I want to make sure everyone is taken care of.
🤍 Local baker referrals: If you need a referral to another local baker in the meantime, I’m more than happy to help.
I cannot adequately express how grateful I am for every single person who has supported the Blue Eyed Bakery. I never take for granted that you choose to spend your hard-earned money on something I’ve made with my own hands. Every order, every subscription and every kind word has meant so much to me.
Thank you for supporting this little business, for being part of our story, and for giving our family the grace and space we need as we navigate losing another piece of our hearts.
Oliver and Callum will always be part of the heart behind this bakery.
With love and a very heavy heart,
Sarah
