The 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic is now the most expensive guitar ever sold, beating the previous record of $3.975 million for a Black Stratocaster owned by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour.

Longtime investor Servco is to acquire a majority stake in Fender Musical Instruments, after entering into a sale agreement to purchase TPG Growth’s shares in the company. The purchase is set to be completed next month (February).
