Our next general meeting is Tuesday, October 13, at the Church of Nativity, 1520 Colvin Blvd in Tonawanda.

There will be an Elmers Corner with Ken KD2KEH, showing a unique home brew antenna for small places and do some preliminary testing that new radio amateurs should consider for such an idea. Elmers Corner begins at 7:00 pm and the General Meeting will begin at 7:30.

The topic for the General Meeting topic is Nike Bases of WNY with Steve NC4SR/VE3FLF. The program will cover the history of post WWII US Air Defense, Nike systems here in WNY!

RAWNY members and guests returned to Ellicott Island Bark Park on Saturday for another afternoon of amateur radio!

We set up three stations, operating phone, CW, and digital modes as W2PE with Parks on the Air.

Join us today (Oct 10) from 12-5 PM at Ellicott Creek Park in Tonawanda. Just a short walk over the pedestrian bridge onto Ellicott Island (the Bark Park).

Can’t join us? Watch for W2PE spotted at US-6532 Erie Canalway.

Everyone really enjoyed Puptoberfest, and with the nice weather continuing, we’re heading back to the Bark Park this Saturday, October 10!

We’ll be getting there at 12 PM Saturday afternoon and operating from the large pavilion on Ellicott Island, where we’ll have plenty of room to spread out. The pavilion is just past the restrooms, straight across from the entrance when you cross the pedestrian bridge.

Bring a portable station, or operate from one of ours! Come out, get on the air, and enjoy another afternoon of radio with fellow members and guests.

In the morning, the Western District Net is joining Pros for their annual breakfast at Ploetz Farms. This is an "all you can eat" pancake breakfast, we’re meeting when they open at 9 AM. The location is 12833 Dowd Rd. in Springville, and then there is still time to be back to the park by noon.

What a great day at Puptoberfest! 🐾

RAWNY members and guests spent the day at the Ellicott Island Bark Park getting on the air and sharing amateur radio with visitors. Guests even got to try their hand at Morse code!

We had lots of four-legged visitors, and some of the costumes were just too cute! 🐶
