Next Sunday is Mother’s Day. When I was a kid, we either served Mom breakfast in bed, or made her a delicious meal for her Mother’s Day gift. I’m not sure we were the greatest cooks back then, but it was the thought that counts. If your cooking abilities(or available cooking time) seem limited, we are happy to help. Discover the convenience of home cooked meals without you having to do the heavy lifting. Consider our ham balls. They come in multiples of 6, with ample sauce covering them. They are easy to reheat—in the oven till they’re warm, or microwave, if you’re in a hurry, or fill a crockpot for a large crowd. Pair them with our delicious cheesy funeral potatoes and a salad for a complete meal with minimal effort. Add our famous coconut cream cake or our strawberry rhubarb pie—voila!—it’s Easter dinner. We’ve got you. Dinner for 12 in an hour, and all you had to do is turn on the oven, make a salad, and set the table. Easy.

In 2020 we started cooking for a few people who had reached an age where standing at a stove to cook a meal had become difficult. Since then, we have cooked for older people who were sick of meals on wheels, frozen meals(full of preservatives) from the grocery store, of eating cereal or toast for dinner. We’ve also cooked for families who were busy with their lives and didn’t have time to cook—or who needed desserts for holidays, or family get togethers, or who had surgeries, or a neighbor with a crisis, or just about any excuse. We try to accommodate everybody.
We’ve added a lot to our menu since the beginning. It’s hard to keep people up to date. I’ve been asked to list the ingredients in all our casseroles by many callers. So, I made a list that can be sent to any one who requests it. Or, I can print one for you if need be. If you’d like a full menu emailed to you, I’m happy to do that also.

Or, a homemade chicken pot pie?? Or, some soup that someone actually cut up the vegetables, simmered the stock, and served it up to you?? At Suburban Sisters we use good ingredients and cook from scratch. We make our own sauces, soups, desserts, and entrees. Happy New Year! Hopefully you all had a great holiday season and things are finally slowly returning to normal. We had a little break from cooking and we’re ready to heat up the kitchen again!
