Thursday, oh Thursday!
A day of planning, prepping, shipping, and creating. (And napping in preparation for a VERY early morning!)
Creating modeling chocolate and fondant, crafting tiny details, covering cake boards, and cutting lots and lots of sprinkles.
Tonight, late at night, when all the world is icy and cold and sleeping, my kitchen will be warm and bright. I will get up at 2 am and spend the wee hours mixing, baking, stacking, frosting, and decorating. My children will awaken to the smells of sweet vanilla, rich chocolate (always fairtrade!), and Italian Merengue Buttercream.
Most bakers bake up to 5 days prior to pick up which can result in a dry cake. I prefer baking same day so each cake is as fresh as possible!
By the time the sun rises, my refrigerator will be filled with cakes, cupcakes, and brownie-sicles.
And this week, amongst all the other orders, I have one *very* special client- my oldest daughter! She turns six on Saturday, and requested Peace Love and Pizza - Alpharetta for her theme. Stay tuned to see what kind of cake she gets!
