Wake the Truck Up

*** This is a wake-up call*** Today, I’d like to announce some big changes for Wake the Truck Up. Thank you for those that sent their condolences about my KitchenAid mixer… Sir Mix-A-Lot will be missed, but do not fret, the Creative Cookery in Fenton has a 30 quart mixer that will allow us to make 8 batches of bagels at a time! What is the Creative Cookery? It’s a brand-new commissary located in Fenton that will be our home base for all things breakfast! Oh yeah… that reminds me, I will be there on Dec 5th to do some baking in the new digs. Since, I’ll be there, go ahead and put your orders in now. After making a couple Challah loaves for Thanksgiving orders, my KitchenAid Mixer decided that it was at the end of its life... (you will be missed). Those of you that have orders in, don't fret -- I perfected all of my recipes by hand before I ever started using a Kitchen-Aid Mixer, your orders will be on time! With a heavy heart, we will be looking for a new mixer, and will not be taking any orders until we save and purchase a new mixer... Thank you again to those who had early orders, your support has helped incredibly to make our dreams become reality!

Wow, overwhelming amounts of support for this new endeavor. For your appreciation, you will wait no longer -- this is the bagel post. These bagels are made where the old-school meets mad-science. St. Louis is a rather unique and allows for really good boiling of bagels (yes, because of scientific reasons). They are hand rolled, boiled, and baked to perfection.

You can choose from these flavors: Everything, Black Poppy Seed, White Sesame Seed, Onion, Garlic, and Naked. Mix and match an order of 8 for $12. Orders of 8 will receive cream cheese at no charge (don't worry, we got you covered).

Challah at yo stomach! Fresh Challah bread loaves. This is a sweeter bread which you can top with your favorite jams or jellies and even butter. I went a step further and sliced it into thick slabs, soaked it in a little egg wash, fried it on a flat-top, and made the best FrenchToast ever!
