I love trying new flavors and experimenting in the kitchen, I really do.

It seems like the baking world is getting swept up in what’s trendy… what’s new… what’s “different.”

But I always come back to something like this.

Peanut butter cookies with some chocolate chips thrown in.

No fancy add-ins. No wild combinations. Just a recipe that’s been around for generations. The kind of cookie that feels like home, smells like comfort, and reminds you of the people who taught you how to bake in the first place.

You know, the ones that disappear off the cooling rack 😉

We don’t need to reinvent everything, because sometimes the best things are the ones that have been loved for a long, long time. 🤎🥜

It’s Christmas week, and I have a very important question…

Why do we pretend some desserts are seasonal?

Sure, pumpkin rolls feel seasonal… but it’s almost 2026 and pumpkin is literally always at the store.

But buckeyes? Fudge? Peanut butter and chocolate are ALWAYS in season.

So I’ve made an executive bakery decision: desserts don’t have seasons around here.
(With one exception being strawberry shortcake. Winter strawberries are a hard no from me.)

🎉Which means buckeyes, all flavors of fudge, and pumpkin rolls are always on the menu 🎉

Because some treats deserve to be year-round favorites.
