I have developed rituals I need to move through before beginning some of my absolute favorite work on a cake. There's nervous energy I need to burn through with dusting and cleaning strange places in my cake kitchen. There's all the left brain stuff I need to get way out of the way first. I do not enjoy left braining when I'm really trying to get deep into my right brain. I've gotta get all of that out of the way early. Then there's music and earbuds. There's dreaming with my eyes open. When that feeling fills my chest right up and I can feel it in my heart and my hands fill with energy, I am ready to see where the cake leads me and where we end up together. ❤️
