I got this cake order in December,deposit was made and couldn't wait to start working on it..
I always start baking 2weeks before the D Day(this is for fruit cake that needs to mature)..

The day i was supposed to start baking,was
the day i was burying my"bonus mother"...She had died a day before..

She came into our lives when we were really young and raised us..

My mum always says "wetereze nga tonafumba",she believes that for someone to cook or bake something really tasty "ayina okwetereza" incase there's something bothering them.

Here i was a few days after laying someone who raised me and had known for almost 30yrs to rest and i can't "kwetereza" to bake client's wedding cake..i mean how?

I don't know how many times i prayed to God to help me do a good job because i was an emotional wreck.. To say the cake came out well is an understatement..The couple loved it and i can only say God came through for me ..

Last week i was baking cakes for an upcoming wedding,this is the biggest order that have ever got,had everything set..
Half way through my baking session,i decided to go run some errands..So that by the time i come back,would be putting in the next batch in the oven..

When i came back,mum told me that power went off no sooner had i left home..

i felt like crying,the cakes that had risen beautifully,had sunk in already..am talking about not 1or 2 but 6 pans!!!..i told God, please take the wheel..

Instead of lighting the charcoal oven i decided to calm down and eat since i was so hungry, hadn't eaten since morning..

When power came back,i just made a smoothie..

Dragon fruit,bananas,and yogurt..

It's tea o'clock...Am not sure how many cookies=happiness,but so far it's not 2 dozen..Cookies Recipe200g castor sugar25...
