It was a wonderful adventure. New York is a really pretty state, it's so cool to be able to ride across it from city to city.
The trike was ideal for the trip. It's so comfortable, there's nothing to distract from enjoying the ride. After a day of riding my legs would be tired but I'd feel refreshed.
The cargo rack was really useful too, I could carry all of my luggage, and it didn't affect the balance like it would on a bike rack.
Getting in and out of hotels was a little tricky, but I got pretty good at it by the end of the trip. The biggest challenge was that it was too big to take on the train, so I had to rent an SUV to return home. It was a very tight fit but managed to fold up the trike and fit it in the back next to my friend's bike and luggage.
I had so much fun, I'm definitely doing it again next year. There's so many cool towns and cities and sights along the Erie canal and I only saw a fraction of them.
