I stand here today not just as a contestant in the Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago pageant—but as a woman who understands the true meaning of resilience, hard work, and dedication.
Story time: I failed all my CXC subjects.😱
Growing up in the countryside of Arena Road, San Raphael, surrounded by a vibrant extended family, I didn’t always realize the extent of our disadvantages. But school was a challenge. Due to financial hardships, I couldn’t attend consistently, and I often felt lost. My mother, determined to give me a better shot at success, transferred me from Arima Girls’ RC to St. Gabriel’s Private School for my final year before Common Entrance. I passed for Five Rivers Junior Secondary, then went on to St. Augustine Comprehensive—affectionately known as the Green Machine.
Though I made great friendships there, academic struggles continued. I left without a single pass.
That moment hit me hard. I didn’t know what my next step would be. But my grandmother—hearing my cry of despair—stepped in. She gave me a second chance by enrolling me at St. Joseph’s College, where I restarted Form 4 and 5. That opportunity changed everything.
Today, I proudly hold:
CXC passes
An Associate Degree in Hospitality Management
A BSc in Public Sector Management
A Master’s in International Trade, Logistics & Procurement
Certification in Business Analytics
Your story doesn’t end at failure. Sometimes, that’s just where the comeback begins.
I'll be back with more insights of who I am. Stay tuned 😊.
