The Full Moon in Scorpio is building; falling in the 5th degree, in the words of Dane Rudhyar, this degree is associated with the Sabian Image: A MASSIVE ROCKY SHORE RESISTS THE POUNDING OF THE SEA. He describes the keynote as the inertia of all institutionalized procedures, and boy, can we see this on the global stage. Scorpio is notorious for holding on, long after others will have given up, and when it does finally loose it's grip, there is often hell to pay!

In Ireland this evening, there is a total eclipse of the Sun.... visible shortly before sunset, on the western side of the country... IF there are clear skies...
Falling in the sign of Aries, this eclipse is ruled by Mars, currently in watery Pisces, applying to a conjunction with Saturn. Mars is itself ruled by Jupiter which conjoins Uranus later in the month... I can feel the air crackling!
According to William Lilly, when a solar eclipse falls in the

“second Decanate, or from 10. to 20. degrees, it brings some King, Prince, or eminent officer to Prison or restraint of Liberty, it adds sorrow and danger of Death unto him, destruction of the bearing fruit-trees, and it portends the rottennesse or putrifaction of such things as the earth produces, whereby both man and beast are afflicted”.

Interesting to note that today, in Ireland, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar formally gave his resignation to the President, and the news has been filled with the dire situation of farmers, who cannot plant because of the extremely wet weather, or let their cows out because their fields are practically under water.

We can recall that the lunar eclipse, on March 25th, fell in the first decan of Libra:
And Lilly writes again....

“In the first Decanate of Libra, hail, storms, ill weather, turbulent winds, violent tempests, very harmfull.”

Eclipses falling in the spring months are known to negatively affect the early growing season and I would expect the bad weather here, at least, to continue until pretty much the end of April, by which time Mars, the eclipse ruler, will have moved out of Pisces, into Aries, and Jupiter will have passed the exactitude of his conjunction with Uranus.

Only of short duration here, this solar eclipse will be visible mostly over North America, where the effects will be far more intense and longer lasting...expect great unrest in the leadership battles this year, with the main effects of this particularly difficult eclipse, to manifest there next year.
Solar eclipses falling on personal points in the natal chart suggest the beginning of the end for phases of life which are no longer relevant... so if this is you, you may want to start packing!

The Full Moon in Libra, which perfects tomorrow morning, is also a Lunar Eclipse. Eclipses are not traditionally seen as fortunate events, and as they come in pairs, we have a Solar Eclipse in two weeks at the next New Moon, in Aries. As we build towards the Jupiter Uranus conjunction in April, the energy seems fraught, unpredictable and tense....

the time between eclipses, (there is a solar eclipse on April 8th), is a strange time where the unthinkable can happen, suddenly and without warning.

The Full Moon in Virgo perfects tomorrow!
As Saturn embarks on his yearly encounter with the Sun, we are called to reassess all areas of our lives that come under the dominion of Saturn in our natal chart. This is the perfect time to gain mastery over any problematic areas, and refine and perfect our lives by letting go of burdens and traveling light into a new future. 15 years ago today, my little sister took her own life, an event that had a huge impact on me, and the work I do. She was a vibrant soul... very social, always laughing, a hard worker, a mother, a mid-wife, an ocean going chef, a lifeboat crew member and so many other things... She left this life on Brides Day, Imbolc, and I am choosing today to introduce my new project,

The Tarot of Grief-Hymns from the Labyrinth of Loss.

Another original, hand-painted deck, this project will invoke the ancient talismanic mysteries of the 36 Faces.

It will be an exploration of the cycles of loss we all experience, and be inspired by the ancient mystical images of the 36 Decans.
The mythology of the Decans refers to a system of celestial beings or spirits that were associated with specific degrees of the zodiac. These beings were believed to have influence over various aspects of human life and were considered important in astrology and divination. This concept can be traced at least as far back as ancient Egypt, where the sky was divided into 36 equal parts, each corresponding to 10 degrees of the zodiac. Agrippa, a Renaissance scholar and occultist, drew upon this ancient tradition and expanded upon it in his work "Three Books of Occult Philosophy" drawing on an earlier Islamic text, the book known as Picatrix. According to Agrippa, each Decan had its own ruling deity or spiritual entity. These entities were often depicted as a combination of human and animal forms, possessing unique attributes and symbolism and were believed to possess specific powers and influence over different aspects of life, including health, wealth, love, and fortune. Specific characteristics were attributed to each Decan, which was associated with different planets and elements and their interpretation was based on a combination of astrology, symbolism, and other occult beliefs.
Today, the Decans are still considered significant in some branches of astrology and occultism, continuing to be used in divinatory practices, horoscope interpretation, and magical rituals by those who follow these traditions and this deck, which is a work in progress, aims to incorporate the mystical and the profane, to create a tool to help others face the darkness of grief and loss.

The Full Moon in Leo perfects tomorrow....
The global spotlight shines upon the main players who inhabit the stage, and it can give undue importance to those who occupy this position; but they are not the only ones who exist. Even the existence of a spotlight, condemns those in the audience and the players backstage, to the darkness, granting them invisibility; what is happening in the wings we might wonder. Behind the stage, the players sabotage and plot, some vying for the leading role, whilst others are happy to be the powers behind the thrones, the coaches, the trainers and writers who express their vision and power through the puppets in the spotlight, leaving vast areas under the covers of darkness, useful for other, more discreet or nefarious purposes. Whilst the eyes of the audience are fixed on the subject in the spotlight, very few are aware of what is happening behind the scenes under cover of the shadows.

With the Full Moon being in a tight applying square to Jupiter, expect magnification of all matters, either real or imagined. Issues with shipping, sea lanes, waterways and water supplies will remain to the forefront, and calls for justice will increase. On a collective level, notice where the spotlight is shining, and question what lies on the outskirts of what is illuminated; what else is happening, who else is speaking in a voice that may be difficult to be heard?
