Bakeri

Bakeri At Bakeri, we are dedicated to producing the best handcrafted breads, cakes and pastries using time-honoured methods.

Every loaf is lovingly kneaded by our artisan bakers using only the best ingredients. Formerly known as Joe & Dough Bakery, Bakeri has come a long way since its inception in 2010. With a jar of natural starter cultivated by our baker and just 2,200 square feet space, the bakery began with the dream of producing handcrafted artisanal breads, and to ensure a consistent supply of quality bakes to all

the Joe & Dough outlets. Customers grew to love our baked goods and with the growing demand, the team had to bid farewell to the little bakery after two years, and moved to a 11,000 square feet baking facility. The space may have changed, but the ethos remain the same. We are dedicated in producing the best artisanal breads and patisseries with consistent and exceptional quality. As a specialty bakery, it is not easy for us to make our baked goods. Almost everything is made by the hands of our bakers who share our pride - from the dividing of the dough to the shaping and molding of each loaf. This requires extra care and special attention to the details, as it challenges the skills, intuition and senses of our bakers, which we call it the “human touch”. So cutting corners is never an option for us. Over the years, the business function expanded to wholesale business as well as catering for corporate events. Today, we are very proud to offer a full range of baked goods from the rustic Italian Ciabatta, to buttery French Croissants and also a large selection of cakes and pastries. From our hands to yours, enjoy our handcrafted bakes filled with natural goodness that speak for themselves.

Glorious and stunning work of love, passion and dedication by our bakers.

Making croissants ain’t rocket science but it certainly is a laborious process which requires many tedious steps. From folding to cutting and rolling up the dough by hand, making our croissants takes time and patience. It’s a true labour of love and well-worth all the effort.

Join us on Singapore Home Cooks Facebook live (https://fb.me/e/3BpsCb6BZ) at 8pm tonight and get your hands on our croissants. Catch our special guest, Ah-Ge Li Nanxing, who will share with us more about his signature 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝗛𝗮𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗮𝗺, made using his family’s heirloom recipe. “Let them eat cake!” – This most famous phrase in history is widely attributed to Marie-Antoinette, the queen of France during the French Revolution, who supposedly said this when she was told that her people were too poor to buy bread.

However, the original French phrase, “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche”, doesn’t exactly translate as “Let them eat cake.” – it means “Let them eat brioche.”

One thing’s for sure – a brioche is almost as luxurious and indulgent as cake to us. Its original recipe is believed to have come from Normandy, a region of France that is also famous for butter. Unlike the usual bread, you would require lots of butter and eggs to make a brioche so it’s no surprise that the bread is rich, buttery, soft and fluffy. This pillowy golden bread is great on its own, perfect for making French toast and rich bread pudding, and it takes sandwiches to the next level.

Join us on Singapore Home Cooks Facebook live at 8pm tonight (fb.me/e/2gQf0nI41) and don’t miss your chance to grab our Emmental cheese brioche loaves at a special price of $4.50, as well as many other artisanal products from our community of local purveyors. See y’all tonight!

Croissants are, in our opinion, the epitome of perfection - flaky and crisp on the outside, but buttery, soft and texturally perfect inside. Brownies may be a simple treat, yet it's not something that everyone can easily get it right. A few minutes too long in the oven, you’ll lose the fudgy-ness and overmixing the batter can mess up the brownie’s texture. The recipe for our fudgy brownies calls for just a handful of ingredients but despite the simplicity of the recipe, it’s absolutely rich, fudgy and perfectly chocolatey (Yes, 53% cocoa!). Pro tip: Warm it up before serving to taste the deep dark chocolate flavours that every brownie fan will love!

Our fudgy brownies will debut on Singapore Home Cooks Facebook live for the first time tonight at 8pm. Join us (https://fb.me/e/3JfAWfIHc) to get your hands on a box (or more) and don’t miss out on the other quality locally made products from our community of local purveyors. See y’all tonight!
