I am happy to present you my contribution to the Granny’s Xmas cake collaboration, organised by the amazing Doreen Zilske! 🤩 I chose to build Santa’s train, the very colourful and cheerful train, all equiped with a wagon full of presents for kids. You can find the Christmas tree, lots of presents, and even en elf in Santa’s bag! 😍 We couldn’t find Santa, but seeing his tracks in the snow, we think he is out delivering presents! 😊

This is the Romanian dish “sarmale cu mamaliga”, in English it would be “sarmale” 😅 with polenta. Of course, as debatable as it gets, given most dishes in the Balkans are subject to debate among these countries. 😇
However, this is a sweet rendition of the Romanian version of a traditional dish, one that makes our mouth water. They are, normally, filled with minced meat, but in my version, they are filled with carrot cake. The “polenta” was poppy lemon cake.
