Weekend Treats & Sweet Memories ☕🍪

One of my favorite parts of the weekend is spending time with my grandkids. There’s something special about the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies filling the house and a warm cup of coffee in my hands.

These little weekend traditions create memories that will last far longer than the cookies themselves. One day, I hope my grandkids will remember not just the treats, but the love that came with them.

Sour cream coffee cake

Cake Batter

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 ½ tsp baking powder
* ½ tsp baking soda
* ½ tsp salt
* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 2 large eggs
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 1 cup sour cream

Cinnamon Streusel Filling/Topping

* ¾ cup brown sugar
* 1 tsp ground cinnamon
* ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
* 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
* 2 tbsp melted butter

Optional Glaze

* ½ cup powdered sugar
* 1–2 tbsp milk
* ½ tsp vanilla extract
