Last Sunday, this man came to our cafe, claiming to be a lawyer from the parish office. He wanted to order cakes for an event amounting to PhP 13,100+. He asked one of our staff to come with him at their office to get the payment and bring the cakes there. He asked our staff to get a taxi, and got the sukli of 800+ from our cashier (before paying!) He and our staff rode a taxi to the Baguio Cathedral. Upon alighting, he walked so fast that our staff lost track of him. Thankfully, he left all the cakes with our staff.
Later on, we found out that this man did the same thing to the taxi driver - he said that he will get the money to pay the taxi driver, but somehow convinced him to give him his sukli beforehand.
Today we found out that the exact thing happened to another resto along Assumption Road, but in their case a laptop was also taken.
⚠️ We are posting this to increase awareness about this modus. Hopefully no one else will be victimized. If you know the identity of this person, please report to the Baguio City Police Office Pacdal at +639985987745.
