"DEATH BY CHOCOLATE"

The first time I saw this recipe was in a food magazine ages ago. It is similar to a trifle, with layers of chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, sweetened whipped cream, and chocolate candies. The original recipe used boxed chocolate cake mix and instant chocolate pudding mix.

My version uses chocolate cake from scratch, and chocolate pudding from scratch. More yummy, more "healthy" (no preservatives), and definitely more satisfying to create.

And yes, those are Maltesers (in the middle there are Maltesers and KitKat bits).

RUM CAKE

This order is still for pickup tomorrow, but rum cakes are better the next day, when they have already absorbed all the goodness of the buttery rum glaze.

This is another recipe that I used to make the easy way using a boxed cake mix and instant vanilla pudding, but now I only bake this from scratch. Not because I'm a kitchen snob, but because I don't stock those mixes anymore. They can be pretty difficult to source too!

Baked a Biscoff cake for the first time yesterday. It was such a hit!

Two vanilla cake layers filled with Biscoff spread, cracked Biscoff biscuits, and the frosting made of butter, condensed milk and Biscoff spread. Finally, more frosting on the cake, more biscuits on top!

This is my granddaughter's favorite cupcake. But the bigger the better, right?

A buttery vanilla cake with just a hint of cocoa and a whole lot of color. Filled and iced generously with a cream cheese frosting that doesn't scrimp on the cream cheese and butter.

Baking frenzy the past two days.

I baked 280 chocolate chip cookies, two Basque burnt cheesecakes, 36 brazo de Mercedes cupcakes, 24 Portuguese egg tarts and one pineapple upside down cake.

The previous weeks, apple pie was the favorite order. Weather-weather lang talaga!
