Mexican style pork steak rice bowls 🍋‍🟩🥩🍚🍅🥗🫘

☆ with homemade gravy (from steak drippings), pico de gallo, and refried beans ☆

bro it's literally just pork steak cut rubbed with (homemade) fajita seasoning, seared, then braised in water until tender, then sliced thinnnnly —> and the fat leftover after all the water evaporates i add flour and my previously made chicken broth (and a little more fajita seasoning and fish sauce, etc.) to —> and i reheated some leftover refried beans i made and added more chicken broth to it (all in the same pot 🗣💥) —> and i chopped up a few simple ingredients to make pico de gallo, and topped everything over rice. now, i don't often have broth so the times i made something gravy-like it was usually without broth/stock but BRO. GRAVY WITH CHICKEN BROTH HITS DIFFERENT. ⁉️💥🔥🙏🙏 it was so beautiful 💔 this whole bowl is so pretty... i'm in love 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️

all the different flavors and textures..... this was so good. 🫠🫠 (AND SO SIMPLE???)

homemade chicken stock ☆

isn't it so pretty? making stock/broth always intimidated me (often in an i-feel-too-lazy kind of way) cause of a bunch of stuff, but i one day made this and it was so simple and convenient, suddenly i feel like i can make chicken stock with no fuss anytime i want now??? LOLL idek why but 😭🫶✨️ it turned out so nice! can't wait to use them in dishes 🤭♡♡

i was pre-cooking a bunch of meat a few days ago—because while on a rush to leave for youth service right after arriving from grocery shopping, SOMEONE i asked to put the meat i bought in the FREEZER put them in the FRIDGE 😀 (well to be fair, even if my sister did listen to what i said properly, there was hardly any freezer space anyway so uh coUgH 🗿🧍‍♀️). pre-cooking meals, at least partially, is >>> ✨️✨️ i wanted to record my (pre-)cooking sesh so bad but halfway through, my phone storage really just be giving up 😔❤️‍🩹 while i address my phone storage, i'll post these photos for now. 🥲

I'VE ALSO BEEN TRYING TO POST THE PAST FEW DAYS but other than being kinda busy and my phone storage DYING, Instagram KEEPS NOT WORKING WHEN I POST CAROUSELS ON THIS ACCOUNT 👹😃😃?!?!! imna throw hands atp smh kgjdkf IG, you ain't HELPING 😭😭😔💔 anw, i discovered such nice, simple recipes lately and during this pre-cooking sesh that i think would be great to add to one's home cooking and recipe repertoire 😁✨️🤍 i hope to share them soon! 🤞💖 and belated happy Mothers' day while i'm at it! 🫶💐

butter pecan cake 𐙚˙⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩

☆ with swiss meringue buttercream (+ added whipped cream) and crushed toasted pecans

background: this was a simple cake for a celebration a few months ago—we had some cake mixes waiting to be used so this was the perfect chance >:) there was a butter pecan flavor so my mom baked that (since i was busy), and the next day i quickly decorated it with some swiss meringue buttercream i had in the freezer (which i added whipped cream to when it was almost not enough to cover the cake, PPHHEW😭) and topped it with toasted crushed pecans, YIPPEEE ♡

chicken and mushroom "mapo tofu" 🔥✨️

when u late to cook, got BARELY any ingredients for a real meal in the kitchen (for 6 ppl, at least) other than the literal randomest bunch of leftover veggies and unusual ingredients, but with just enough creativity and cooking/food knowledge and experience, SOMEHOW COME UP WITH ONE OF UR MOST SOLID DISHES/RECIPES 🙏🙏💥💥💥 or yk, JUST A STRANGE BUT REALLY GOOD MEAL JACKPOTTT 🙏💥💥 this one's going in the GO-TO RECIPES NOTION PAGE 🔥🔥🔥

not traditional or anything, but this mapo tofu is sooo easy AND FAST to make too! AAAA I LOVEE THIS SMM, i didn't have enough time to record and take proper photos today, but i hope to share the recipe with a video in the future! 😁✨️💥

LOLL i just found out "pusong mamon" is an idiom recently 😭 IT MADE ME SOFT AHAHAHA😭😭💀🤍

in English, "pusong mamon" essentially translates to "(a) heart of chiffon cake" 😭🤧 and refers to someone who's soft-hearted or easily emotionally touched, etc. (and yes, fun fact: mamon is a type of chiffon cake)

what's funny is i immediately remembered that i happened to make LITERAL heart-shaped chiffon cakes a few months ago??? WAHAHAH 💀 perfect chance to share some photos ♡✨ aren't they so cute?️ i'm AAALMOST free enough to potentially start posting again soon 🫡🤞
