bro it's literally just pork steak cut rubbed with (homemade) fajita seasoning, seared, then braised in water until tender, then sliced thinnnnly β€”> and the fat leftover after all the water evaporates i add flour and my previously made chicken broth (and a little more fajita seasoning and fish sauce, etc.) to β€”> and i reheated some leftover refried beans i made and added more chicken broth to it (all in the same pot πŸ—£πŸ’₯) β€”> and i chopped up a few simple ingredients to make pico de gallo, and topped everything over rice. now, i don't often have broth so the times i made something gravy-like it was usually without broth/stock but BRO. GRAVY WITH CHICKEN BROTH HITS DIFFERENT. ⁉️πŸ’₯πŸ”₯πŸ™πŸ™ it was so beautiful πŸ’” this whole bowl is so pretty... i'm in love πŸ§Žβ€β™€οΈπŸ§Žβ€β™€οΈ

isn't it so pretty? making stock/broth always intimidated me (often in an i-feel-too-lazy kind of way) cause of a bunch of stuff, but i one day made this and it was so simple and convenient, suddenly i feel like i can make chicken stock with no fuss anytime i want now??? LOLL idek why but 😭🫢✨️ it turned out so nice! can't wait to use them in dishes πŸ€­β™‘β™‘

i was pre-cooking a bunch of meat a few days agoβ€”because while on a rush to leave for youth service right after arriving from grocery shopping, SOMEONE i asked to put the meat i bought in the FREEZER put them in the FRIDGE πŸ˜€ (well to be fair, even if my sister did listen to what i said properly, there was hardly any freezer space anyway so uh coUgH πŸ—ΏπŸ§β€β™€οΈ). pre-cooking meals, at least partially, is >>> ✨️✨️ i wanted to record my (pre-)cooking sesh so bad but halfway through, my phone storage really just be giving up πŸ˜”β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή while i address my phone storage, i'll post these photos for now. πŸ₯²

background: this was a simple cake for a celebration a few months agoβ€”we had some cake mixes waiting to be used so this was the perfect chance >:) there was a butter pecan flavor so my mom baked that (since i was busy), and the next day i quickly decorated it with some swiss meringue buttercream i had in the freezer (which i added whipped cream to when it was almost not enough to cover the cake, PPHHEW😭) and topped it with toasted crushed pecans, YIPPEEE β™‘

LOLL i just found out "pusong mamon" is an idiom recently 😭 IT MADE ME SOFT AHAHAHAπŸ˜­πŸ˜­πŸ’€πŸ€

in English, "pusong mamon" essentially translates to "(a) heart of chiffon cake" 😭🀧 and refers to someone who's soft-hearted or easily emotionally touched, etc. (and yes, fun fact: mamon is a type of chiffon cake)

what's funny is i immediately remembered that i happened to make LITERAL heart-shaped chiffon cakes a few months ago??? WAHAHAH πŸ’€ perfect chance to share some photos β™‘βœ¨ aren't they so cute?️ i'm AAALMOST free enough to potentially start posting again soon 🫑🀞
