A MUST-SEE!!!
“Voices in the Wilderness” is a family and youth-oriented concert centered on the evangelical mission of awakening the Christian faith in each of us. It will be staged on Dec. 8, 2013 (Sunday) from 3:00-5:00 pm at Bulwagang Diego Cera, San Sebastian College Recoletos - Manila. Inspired by the Gospel that speaks of John the Baptist as the voice crying out in the desert - as a precur
sor to the Messiah - and Mary, the portare Dominum - or the door through which the Lord entered the world - the concert, though to be participated in by magnificent performers, is not to be projected as a celebration of human talents and celebrity; rather, it focuses on the Giver of Gifts, and on the Gift that truly matters: Jesus Christ. "Voices in the Wilderness" is a project of Neocatechumenal Way Communities of Sacred Heart of Jesus - Sta. Mesa, Manila, in cooperation with SSC-R Manila Center for Culture and the Arts. Its proceeds have been dedicated to the construction of Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary of Manila located in Jerusalem St., Multinational Village, Paranaque City. The Neocatechumenal Way is an itinerary of Christian formation, a reality within the Roman Catholic Church concentrated on evangelization initiatives under the authority of the local Bishop. The Church refers to it as “a fruit of the Second Vatican Council”. Since its beginning in 1964, it has spread to 105 countries and 5 continents, and now runs 100 Redemptoris Mater Missionary (Diocesan) Seminaries in various locations worldwide. In the Philippines, the Neocatechumenal Way has spread to more than 700 communities in Metro Manila and the provinces. And in 1996, the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary of Manila was opened by the late Jaime Cardinal Sin.
