This cake is super special!
So I got a last minute custom cake order for the weekend of fathers day. Being fathers day, I was already packed with my Father’s Day cake boxes but me being me said I’ll make your cake, no problem.
This was for a person named Philip Anslem, this reminded me of one of my favorite professors Anslem Selvaraj who was a visiting professor when I was doing my first year Bachelor’s in Architecture. I was thinking of him the whole time I was making the cake, he was a very passionate about teaching and was an extremely funny person. I still remember those class room scenes like it happened yesterday. I absolutely loved how this cake turned out, handed over the cake to the customer who had ordered the cake for her husband’s 50th. I had a super long weekend making 36 cake boxes for Father’s Day, 2 custom cakes, some cupcakes, 75 muffins and was nothing short of exhausted. On Sunday after church I had scheduled cake pick ups for the Father’s Day boxes and the same person who orders this cake had ordered a Father’s Day box too and she had come over to pick up. While handing over the cake I told her your husband’s name reminded of my professor from college when I did my Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and she immediately asked me: was his name Anslem Selvaraj? Turns out the cake I made was for my Professor’s son! What joy it was, it absolutely made me day.
Also, this professor was from when I was in India and this cake was made for his son here in New Zealand.
