Just to let you all know.. that Andy’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 8th April at 2.30 pm (sorry to everyone back home live streaming it.. that will be an alarm clock moment!)
It will be at Wai-Mana Chapel in Rangiora followed by refreshments on site.
Everyone is very welcome, but as all our family are in the UK, we are trying to gauge numbers at this stage. If you are planning to come and celebrate Andy with us, we would be very grateful if you could please either comment below or message myself or Jess in the next few days. 🕊️🌹

We are devastated to share with you all, that Andy ‘The Pegasus Pie Man’ lost his battle at 10.30 yesterday morning under the beautiful care of the Nurse Maude Hospice team. They treated Andy with so much dignity and respect and were such a massive support to myself and Jess. He left this world very peacefully and myself and Jess were holding his hands at the time. It was exactly the way he wanted to go. The last 2.5 years have been such a battle for Andy following his Dermatomyositis diagnosis. A terrible disease that he fought so hard, only to then get slammed with the terminal cancer diagnosis a year and a half later. Again, he fought this as hard as he possibly could. He never gave in or let it beat him and found passion in making pies for you all. Something that he enjoyed so much. He loved his conversations with you all. Thank you for all your support and kindness that you showed to him. We’ll always think of him whenever we see a pork pie.. 😢💔🥧 We would appreciate privacy at this time.

Due to health issues I’m unable to continue as the Pegasus Pie Man, I have every confidence that you will find someone who can make pies that surpass even my own amazing creations 😂 I love you all 🥰 🥧

Hello everyone, I'm thrilled to be reconnecting with you all after a brief pause. I've been navigating some challenges lately, and I'm grateful for your unwavering support - it's meant the world to me. I'm excited to announce that I'm easing back into baking, starting with small batches of our beloved Pork Pies. I'll keep you posted on availability. Hey guys, I really appreciate your patience with regards to the Pork Pie production. I know, I know, it's been a pie-oneering effort so far, but due to my unexpected Hospital stay, there will be a small delay on the turnout of Pork Pies. The plan moving forward is for me to be super sensible (wife's words, not mine, I'm still in denial) and cook batches off and let you know when they will be available. I usually make about 50 at a time, so if I take this next week out of the equation, I should be able to supply approx 250 the following week. I will continue to produce more and unless told otherwise, will keep going until you say stop. I'm also toying with the idea of making smaller Pork Pies to use as snacks - great for packed lunches, and let's be real, who doesn't love a good pie? Again, I'm Sorry for the short delay, but I promise there will be enough for everyone (and then some). Oh, and my wife has guilt-tripped me into donating $1 to her Dry July effort for every Pork Pie sold - I mean, it's for a good cause, but let's be real, it's going to be a looong July (for me anyway 🥴) Thanks so much, you wonderful people. 🥰🥧

Ok you wonderful people, I have the numbers for the Pork Pies in, I’ll leave it another hour before I place my meat order with the awesome team at Peter Timbs so if you want adding to the list please flick me your numbers, I’m up to 196 pies so a lot of work ahead of me (don’t panic I really do enjoy it😊)

I’m planning on having them all made by end of next week so what I’ll do is notify you on my Pegasus Pie Man FB page so make sure you’re all following.

Im so pleased so Many of you have ordered them it just shows how delicious they are 😋 If I’m around next year is like to enter a couple of versions as well as the original into NZ’s best Pies just to see if the like for them goes further than our area.

Hey you amazing caring peeps 🥰 my next line that will be out there for you to sink your teeth into are the ridiculously popular British Pork Pies - yes, the ones that will make your taste buds do the happy dance! I would love it if you could tell me how many you’d all like because, let’s face it, these babies take a lot of prep work - up to 3 days, to be exact. I will attach the process again but just to butcher the pork correctly takes 1 whole day - talk about a labor of love! If you could get your numbers in so I can pass my order on to Dave at Peter Timbs and I can start the making of them. I’m expecting several 100 which isn’t a problem if I know, once I have the numbers I’ll let you know when I’ll have them for picking up fresh or I can package them frozen for your convenience 😊🥧

Hey you wonderful people, thank you for being so loving and caring this week. I am overwhelmed with the kind thoughts and wishes ❤️ As promised I said when I bake I’ll let you know the day before so that you can pre order fresh or just know what I’m up to 😊 Tomorrow I will be baking Fruit Pies, so; Cherry Pie, Apple & Rhubard, Spiced Apple, Blueberry or Sweet Mince. All really delicious so get your orders in and have them for dinner tomorrow night 😊🥧

It’s with great sadness that I’m announcing the winding down of The Pegasus Pie Man for the time being. 🥺
I need to now concentrate on my health. It has been so lovely to meet you all and I’ve loved every minute of it.
Thank you all for your lovely kind messages and thoughts and for just being so nice over the last several weeks, you’ve all been amazing 🥰x
