Lazy Cake in Denmark!🤤 In Danish Lazy Cake is called ‘Kiksekage’ which directly translated means Biscuit Cake. Now that’s a lazy name😜 Cake was based on cocoa powder and coconut oil (palmin) and cookies neatly layered like in all Scandinavian countries. In Denmark Lazy Cake was very popular in the 70's and 80's. Today, the cake is not the most popular cake anymore. However, almost every Dane knows it and if they grew up in the 70's to 90's they probably have had it many times in their childhood.
Many of our customers from Denmark were surprised to see Kiksekage, shared many memories with us.
Dee’s Cake brings back childhood memories for many of us!😍 As always guys, Sharing is Caring🙏
Be safe and have a great day!🙏😉

Good morning to all our fans😉 We have mentioned this before, but it’s so cool, we going to do it again! What is the Queen’s of England Dee most favorite dessert? It’s the Lazy Cake!😱😱
Of course, out there it goes by more royal names. In Britain Lazy Cake is called ‘Chocolate biscuit cake’ or ‘Prince William’s groom’s cake’. Apparently it was his favorite childhood desert (like many of ours🤤), therefore Prince William requested a massive chocolate biscuit cake even at his wedding reception back in 2011. It was made out of 1700 cookies and 17kg of chocolate😱
Bellow we put a quote from an interview with the Queen’s personal chef we found online.👇👇
"This chocolate biscuit cake is Her Royal Majesty the Queen's favorite afternoon tea cake by far," chef Darren McGrady, The Royal Chef and former personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, told ‘TODAY Food’. "This cake is probably the only one that is sent into the royal dining room again and again until it has all gone."
"It is her favorite cake that she eats until it is all gone," says McCrady. "If there is anything left when she has it at Buckingham Palace, it then goes to Windsor Castle so she can finish it there. I use to travel on the train from London to Windsor Castle with the biscuit cake in a tin on my knee. It was half eaten.”
😉
In many countries Lazy Cake was associated with with poor economies. Back in the days it was a bite of pure luxury for those who couldn’t afford confectionery products.
Lesson here! No matter your background or status, Lazy Cake unites us all!😜🙏

Hello to all our fans! 🙏🙏
We have some Lazy Facts from Germany! 😜
Lazy Cake in Germany can be dated back to late 19th century. Made with special German ‘Leibniz’ cookie (sounds like ‘Lazy Business Cookie’ to us 😜) that are neatly layered. Lazy Cake there goes by few names like ‘Kalter Hund’ (cold dog), Kalte Schnauze (cold snout) or Kellerkuchen (cellar cake). Why Cold dog/snout? Well, ‘Kalter’ is cold and you know why 😜 ‘Hund’ comes from the word ‘Grubenhunte’ which is the mining cart used in mines. The cart resembles the tray where you make the Lazy Cake! ‘Cold Snout’ comes from the the moist surface of the cake and ‘Cellar Cake’ name comes from the 60’s where cake was kept in a cellar instead of the fridge!
At the market we had soooooo many customers from northern part of Germany and all of them told us that Lazy Cake in Germany is associated with every kids birthday, Christmas and grandma. 😍 Contrary to customers from south of Germany-they never even heard of the names mentioned earlier, forget the tasting😱 Looks like south of Germany could do with a Dee’s Cake franchise😜
The Longest Lazy Cake was made in Ronneburg (Germany) in October 2019 (Guys sit down!) shocking 994,9 meters long 😱😱😱 that’s like 3684 Dee’s Cakes! 🤤

Good morning to all our fans🙏😉
If you hold a Lithuanian passport and don’t know what Lazy Cake is, there is a big chance soon you are getting deported!😜
All jokes, but Lithuania is probably a second home for the Lazy Cake! You are able to find it in various cafes all around the country, even buy it at the supermarket! In Lithuania it is called ‘Tinginys’, which means ‘Lazy’ or ‘Sloth’. You have to be one to make it. 😜 It does not require any baking, does not have any special occasion out there, just being made randomly with the ingredients that are always available in the cupboard.🤤
Tinginys is imbedded in every child’s memory and it is probably the first thing you make in the kitchen as a kid. Lithuanian Lazy Cake is usually rolled into a sausage or a loaf, like in many countries, but made with a staple, national cookie which makes Lithuanian Lazy Cake taste extra nice🤤 Believe us, we know!😉🙏
You can have a quick trip to Lithuania by tasting Dee’s Original Cake! We are confident, we have the closest match for you.🤤🤤

Our hearts go to all Lebanese and those affected directly or indirectly by the recent event in Beirut. Together, strong they will rebuild in no time!❤️
Now on a more fun note. We know for sure one thing unites all our Lebanese fans-it’s Lazy Cake! At the market we talked to so many customers from Lebanon and they always talked about it as they invented this baby.😜 They call it ‘Biscuit au Chocolat’ or simply in English ‘Lazy Cake’ as in many Middle East countries! We found online a beautiful quote just to sum up on how crazy popular Lazy Cake is out there!😍
“This may not be strictly speaking a Lebanese creation, but it is so popular there that an argument can be made that it is. One finds this lazy cake in all coffee shops in Beirut, even at the McCafé.”
We added Lebanon on our bucket list as one of the places to visit, see and try Lazy Cake for ourselves.
But for now, if you are in Amsterdam, you MUST visit newly opened .nl 🤤 The real taste of Beirut! Mouthwatering, freshly made Lebanese food and top class hospitality from the staff and the owners! Please check their online reviews guys, it’s incredible how well Kalila is doing! And the best part, they offer Dee best Lazy Cake in town!🤤
Sharing is Caring!🙏🙏
