🎬 EPISODE 5 — THE FROSTING STAGE! 🎂✨
NOW THE CAKE STARTS LOOKING LIKE A CAKE! 😂😍
Remember our five-flavour beauty? 👀
We’ve baked,
layered
trimmed
crumb-coated and
chilled.
And now, finally… IT’S TIME TO FROST! 🎂✨
But wait! 👀
What is cake frosting?
Frosting (often called icing) is a sweet, thick coating used to cover, fill, and decorate baked goods like cakes, cupcakes & pastries.
Types of frosting
🧈 American Buttercream: .
🥚 Swiss Meringue:
🍨Whipped cream
🧀 Cream Cheese:
🍫 Ganache:
Is frosting simply about covering the cake with buttercream/ whipped cream until everything looks pretty? 🤔
Not quite!
The frosting stage is important because it helps us:
✨ Create a smooth, neat finish
✨ Lock in those crumbs after the crumb coat
✨ Give the cake its final shape and structure
✨ Prepare the surface for the decorations and finishing touches
And because this is a tall cake with five different flavours, getting those layers properly supported and the outside smooth takes patience, precision and a LOT of attention. 😅🎂
This is where the baker has to slow down and pay attention to the little details.
Too much pressure? You can disturb those beautiful layers.
Too little? You may not get that smooth finish.
And don't even get me started on getting those edges nice and sharp! 😂😭
So yes… frosting may look simple but there’s definitely a method behind the beauty. ❤️
And guess what?
We’re getting dangerously close to the final reveal… 👀🤭
But I’m not showing you yet! 😂
Tell me, my people👇🏽.
When you see a beautifully frosted cake, what catches your eye first—the smooth finish, the sharp edges, or the decoration? 🎂
