🔍 Why Cakes Crack on Top: Common Reasons & Fixes
🔥 1. Oven Too Hot
Problem: The outside sets too quickly while the inside is still expanding, causing the top to crack.
Fix: Use an oven thermometer to ensure accurate temperature. Lower the temperature by 10–15°C (25°F) if needed and bake a bit longer.

🥣 2. Overmixed Batter
Problem: Overmixing develops gluten, making the batter tough and causing uneven rising/cracking.
Fix: Mix until ingredients are just combined. Stop mixing once there are no visible dry spots.

🧁 3. Wrong Pan Size or Material
Problem: A pan that's too small or dark-colored can cause the cake to rise too quickly and crack.
Fix: Use the pan size specified in the recipe. Opt for light-colored metal pans for even heat.
