TOP 12 CHARACTERISTICS THAT MAKE SINGERS GREAT
✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
1. Enunciation: Learn to pronounce your words clearly. Good singing is not only about sound; people should understand your message.

2. Inspiration: If the song doesn’t move or bless you, it may be difficult to genuinely connect with your audience.

3. Posture: Stay relaxed and stand upright. Don’t bend, lock your knees, or raise your shoulders. Good posture supports better singing.

4. Breathing: Work on your breathing. Poor breath management can affect your pitch, tone, control, and endurance.

5. Learn to speak less: Your voice needs rest. Avoid unnecessary talking, especially before or after singing for long periods.

6. Rest: Rest is very important if you must sing well. Lack of rest can affect your vocal strength, control, and overall performance.

7. Vocal Techniques: Learn techniques like riffs and runs, vocal fry, vibrato, falsetto, head voice, etc. When used properly, they can add beauty and expression to your singing.

8. Develop Your Range: Don’t get too comfortable in one pitch or range. Train your voice gradually and discover what more your voice can do.

9. Emotions: Learn to communicate the emotion of the song. Music connects deeply with people, so you must learn to express yourself properly. For music ministers, allow the Holy Spirit to guide your emotions before ministering. “No be every cry be Holy Spirit.” Sometimes the lead singer is simply transferring personal emotions to the audience. Be sensitive.

10. Vocal Warm-ups: Make vocal warm-ups part of your routine. Proper warm-ups prepare your voice and help you sing with better control.

11. Diaphragm Support: Learn proper breath support and how to engage your diaphragm. It can help you sing with greater strength and control while reducing unnecessary tension in your throat.

12. Learn All Vocal Parts: Learn to sing soprano, alto, and tenor. Don’t stay only in your comfort zone. A versatile singer should be able to understand and sing different vocal parts.

7 THINGS THAT ARE HARMFUL TO YOUR VOICE AS A SINGER
👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
Your voice is a delicate instrument, and how you treat it daily determines how long and how well it will serve you. Many vocal problems singers experience are not sudden; they are often the result of repeated harmful habits. Here are seven common things that can damage your voice if not avoided.
1. Poor Vocal Technique
Singing with tension, shouting, or forcing high notes strains the vocal cords. Over time, this can lead to vocal fatigue and loss of control. Proper technique and warm-ups help protect the voice.
2. Over-singing Without Rest
Constant singing without adequate rest tires the vocal cords. Just like muscles, the voice needs recovery time to stay healthy and responsive.
3. Dehydration
A dry throat makes the vocal cords less flexible and more prone to injury. Not drinking enough water is one of the fastest ways to weaken vocal performance.
4. Clearing the Throat Excessively
Frequent throat clearing slams the vocal cords together harshly. This habit can cause irritation and inflammation, making the voice sound rough or hoarse.
5. Singing While Sick or Tired
Using your voice when your body is weak places extra strain on it. Singing through illness or extreme fatigue can delay healing and worsen vocal damage.
6. Poor Posture and Breath Support
Slouching or shallow breathing limits airflow and forces the throat to work harder. Proper posture and breath control reduce tension and improve vocal strength.
7. Ignoring Vocal Warm-ups and Cool-downs
Starting to sing without warming up, or stopping abruptly without cooling down, shocks the vocal cords. Gentle exercises prepare the voice and help it recover after use.
In conclusion, protecting your voice requires awareness and discipline. By avoiding these harmful habits and developing healthy vocal practices, a singer can preserve vocal quality, extend vocal lifespan, and sing with confidence and freedom.

I remain your favourite vocal coach Kvocals and I believe in you don't let anyone talk you down or discourage you. Keep being consistent and you will get better
