I asked Baker Saadatullah, “What was your biggest fear when you started your training at NBPA?”
She replied that she found it difficult to understand the difference between teaspoons and tablespoons, and how to convert measurements
She said she just had to put everything in God’s hands because, honestly, teaspoons and tablespoons are the least things that should stress a baker
She came in as a complete beginner, so everything felt challenging at first.
But look at her now 🥹🤍
She can confidently cover a huge cake with perfect sharp edges.
Someone who came into my academy without any baking knowledge at all.
She gave it her best, and I also did my possible best to hold her hand throughout the journey.
One thing I noticed during the training, especially about her, is that even though she came in as a beginner, she was always able to grab knowledge quickly once I taught her something.
She’s not someone you should overload with too many notes or big grammar
Instead of stressing her with too much explanation when she wasn’t understanding with words, I understood that she learned better with practicals. Once we started working with our hands, she would grab everything immediately.
I thank God I was able to identify her strength and weakness and work with her strength.
As a teacher, you need to understand that students are different. You have to identify their strengths and weaknesses because they do not all learn the same way.
I can’t wait to show you all Saadatullah’s final practical
NBPA is your best baking academy in Ilorin and Nigeria at large 🤍
