MY ONLY DAUGHTER, WHOM I RAISED ALONE, UNINVITED ME FROM HER WEDDING
My daughter Emma and I have always been like two peas in a pod, besties through thick and thin. It's just been us two against the world, scraping by but making the most of it. When she found her Mr. Right, I was over the moon — she was about to get her fairy tale ending.
Cut to the night before her big day, and I'm all alone at home, getting all sentimental and flipping through Emma's baby pics. Then, out of the blue, my phone buzzes.
I'm thinking, "Oh, it's gotta be Emma, maybe she forgot something or needs a pep talk," you know? So, I practically dive for the phone, but when I see the message... Bam! It hits me like a ton of bricks. Emma's saying she DOESN'T WANT ME at her wedding. Just like that.
