Not keeping pictures of our work has been an issue and we still have issues with meeting up on social media and posting our works, but this year will be different😁.
Wee will be deliberate about it👌🏻

Last year was a wonderful year for Us

Everywhere became silent!🥹
Note: I had no idea whatsoever about wedding cakes decorations cause I have never done any before. I help my mum do cakes but I have never decorated a big cake on my own, not to mention a wedding cake😭

I rarely knew what fondant icing was talk less of making it😂 and I was offering to make a full tier wedding cake for a friend🙆🏻‍♀️
(My mum was mostly a butter and royal icing expert and hardly does fondant)

The bride had a very good choice of design and how she wanted the cake to look like (in my mind I was like, "madam be calming down o... If you see butter that day better collect")😂

After then, I started having sleepless nights🥺 and several panic attacks. I didn't know where to start or how to go about it. Baking the cake Isn't my problem. But decorating it was my biggest problem🥹.
I didn't know who to run to, I knew I had my mum but she wasn't available and I needed someone to supervise , monitor and assist me.

N/B: this job came in 2weeks to the wedding so there was no time to go for training or fondant lessons.

Back to my story😁
After writing the list, I showed it to my mum and she looked at it the only thing she said was " I know you have never done this before, but I trust you to handle this and do it well. Know that anything you put your hands to do and you're committed to it, it comes out beautiful. If you have any questions call me or call Mrs Ajogbor" ( her friend)

My confidence level went up to a 100%. And I went to the market and got all I needed.
I called mummy's friend and told her I was to do a wedding cake and she encourage me and said, "no matter how you do it, just make sure the measurements nare correct"

And that was it, My first wedding cake and first fondant experience😁

From the wedding I got lots of jobs and baking became a side hustle from then.

Few years down the line, I decided to go for and upgrade and onsite training with Thelfred venture to help me better in the business and I'm glad I did.
I registered and joined different online baking and branding classes which has helped shaped my business to where it is today.

A few years ago baking was just a hobby to me, since I love a lot of baked products I decided to learn how to make them myself. I later fell in love with it and loved doing things by myself, especially when I crave for them.

My mum was a hobby baker and I learnt all my baking skills or most of my baking skills from her.
Along the line, she retired or decided to stop baking since her professional career was climbing up and she had a goal for her professional live.
Jobs (baking orders) were still coming in for her and some were very juicy and mouthwatering but she turned them down to pursue her "dreams".

On some occasions, I felt bad for the people especially the ones who were old customers. (But baking wasn't my thing😁 I bake for only home and maybe my birthdays when I don want to spend money🙈.)

A day came when a family friend wanted getting married (a very helpful family friend). She didn't know any other baker she could contact for her cake except my mummy.
She pleaded, we all pleaded with my mum to do her the honour of baking her wedding cake but mummy declined cause she was too busy with work. She referred her to a few baker friends but they rejected her cause the time was too short and she didn't have the finances to pay for an urgent work.
Frustrated bride kept on lamenting, complaining and finally made peace with the fact that she wouldn't have a cake to cut on her big day.

Then I stepped in, I tried to beg mum again but she still declined and gave me reasons why.
I felt pity for her and out of the abundance of my heart my mouth spoke "I will do it"😂
