“Just manage for now.”

In many Nigerian homes, the breadwinner becomes the unofficial ATM, therapist, school fees sponsor, hospital bill payer and problem solver all at once. Just like Monica in the movie *Monica*, many people are carrying family responsibilities quietly while neglecting themselves.

Some skip meals so younger ones can eat.
Some ignore headaches, ulcers, body pain and stress because “there’s no time to rest.”
Some work morning till night but haven’t done a medical checkup in years.

But here is the truth:
**A sick breadwinner cannot carry the family for long.**

You cannot pour from an empty cup.

Taking care of your health is not selfishness. It is responsibility too.

As you hustle for your family:

* eat proper meals, not only “soak garri and sleep”
* drink enough water
* rest when your body is tired
* check your blood pressure and blood sugar regularly
* don’t ignore constant stress, headaches or body weakness
* make time for movement and sleep

Many Nigerians glorify suffering so much that people feel guilty for caring for themselves. But your family does not only need your money ,they need you alive, healthy and mentally present too.

Even generator needs servicing.
You are not a machine.
