It all began way back during the early seventies. The wife of the Business Manager at the Penang Adventist Hospital...a Mrs. Heisler decided to demonstrate her culinary skills by organising cooking classes for the general public. Her vegetarian recipes were very well received and it was here during her classes and for the very first time she revealed her miracle recipe...the nutritiously ‘enriched
’ (sprouted) wholemeal bread. The health conscious citizens of Penang loved it instantly and they wanted it on a regular basis. Because of this overwhelming response and demand for the bread, Mrs Heisler and the hospital’s management began production on a small scale to bake the bread at the premises, initially for the patients and staff. Sometime in 1994 the kitchen was renovated to make way for a bakery outlet – ‘The Adventist Bakery’. The bakery began a promotion campaign to encourage healthy eating habits and has since introduced a variety of new nutritious baked products and supplies them to other bakeries and establishments. Their ‘Sprouted Life Grain Bread’ is one such recipe and has become sensationally popular for its nutritional goodness and awesome taste. Then in 2005 another Adventist Bakery began operations in Kuala Lumpur to cater for the growing demand of the bakery’s sprouted bread and other baked products. The bakery has been supplying sprouted bread in the Klang Valley for more than a decade now. To reach a wider consumer base and to bring the bakery’s much loved products to more health conscious people and their families, ‘Rainbows Health Food Industries Sdn. Bhd.’ became a prefered partner in 2015. This factory currently manufactures, bakes, distributes & markets the entire range of baked products to more outlets and establishments in both East & West Malaysia and hopefully beyond in the near future. Adventist Bakery’s Sprouted Bread, since it’s humble beginnings has always been entrusted to producing nutritionally good and quality food to encourage healthy eating habits for the whole family. In today’s environment and lifestyle, unhealthy eating habits have become part of the norm and have resulted in the onset of lifestyle diseases like Diabetes, Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome, High Blood Pressure, Cancers and other unwanted conditions amongst many Malaysians. Good nutrition is the key to good health and wellbeing....’you are what you eat’
