Listen to my heart...it tells me to face the challenge of peeling pineapple, crush the flesh, cook down to the fiber with homemade raspberry jam and honey Mandarin. It tells me to use existing tart moulds and do it by hand to score the pattern. When my heart says so, baking becomes more of love than a pressure. Thanks to Wilfred for DIYing me a tart presser. Happy Chinese New Year.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Here is another take on traditional mooncakes - all made from scratch, no shortcut. 125 pieces under two nights. Durian mung bean paste was a new challenge. Yearly favourite - purple sweet potato and red bean. Thanks friends for your support!

Snowball Mochi is a trendy dessert in Kuching. I looked up the recipe and tried making two types - cream filled with fruits and ice cream. The third time practice, the right mochi skin texture is achieved!

Bringing all my favorites in one bag to friends and families. A packet of small bites of Nestum cookies, pineapple tarts and pistachio nougat. All made with love. Sarawakian pineapple stirred to a sweet consistency, the Nestum baked till crunchy to the bite and the chewy milky marshmallow melts in your mouth effortlessly.

Just a random idea ... I saw the pretty cute packaging and immediately thought of packing 3-4 different types of Mandarin oranges. Not the typical Lokam but the mini versions of Wowogan, Jeju, Mikan and Sugar Tangerines. All packs were RM10 a pack, so I made about 8 packs under RM40. You should try it.

Merry Christmas! Here I am at it again. A big baking project to prepare the PYO cookies for the whole school as one of the Christmas celebration activities. I knew I had to make 350 cookies but I didn't know the preparation would take up nights and days. I pulled through it because I always wanted to try making royal icing cookies and it's fun to paint on sugar cookies. Another achievement for myself and stretching my capabilities as a baker. Would you have done it under 80 hours across 5 days of work? Thanks to my hubby for designing the blank canvas for the secondary level. The primary had their Christmas tree and gingerbread man to paint using a color palette cookie. The funniest of all, kids used it to paint their own face and eat up the cookie with colors in their tongue like Halloween didn't leave.
