With the support of the IECD team and of the local partner, the Pedagogical Coordinator & Trainer will be in charge of:
LIFE SKILLS TEACHING:
- Adapt and organize the lessons plans for each topic of the Life Skills curriculum.
Examples of Life Skills topics: nutrition, respect and tolerance, stress management, critical thinking, communication etc.
- Conduct training sessions through a lively and participative approach, including activities and games.
- Organize Guidance & Employment activities to prepare the students for their job search and professional integration.
STUDENTS’ FOLLOW-UP
As a way to foster students’ academic success within a safe and positive training environment, and to prepare them for a successful social and professional integration, organize the student’s follow-up, including:
- Academic and pedagogical follow-up, evaluation and assessment
- Individual follow-up with the students and parents
- Professional follow-up
The Pedagogical coordinator will organize individual follow-up with each student at least once every 2 weeks.
PEDAGOGICAL COORDINATION of the TRAINING
- Ensure the pedagogical coordination for the Life Skills and the Bakery classes (theory and practice): classes schedules and organization, follow-up of students’ evaluation etc.
- Support the pedagogical coordination for other classes if needed.
- Provide pedagogical support to the Bakery trainer, and other trainers if needed.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Other pedagogical and students-related activities could be considered:
- Support to the students' recruitment process
- Alumni follow-up: integration surveys, alumni network etc.
- Pedagogical support and ToT for the other trainers.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Bachelor’s Degree in education / psychology / social welfare related field.
- At least two-year working experience as a teacher or proven experience as pedagogical / social worker.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Myanmar language.
- Computer literate (i.e. Microsoft Office Pack).
- Ability to demonstrate fair and consistent behavior towards students.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with other schools and partners.
- Flexible: ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
- Familiar with multi-cultural working environment.
CONDITIONS
Contract: 6 months part-time (3 days / week) or full-time
Location: on-site, Yangon – Mayangone Township, Myanmar
Expected start of contract: July 2021.
