Still on a break but bounced back out of hiatus to whip up this beaut for my sister’s wedding a couple of months ago.
Leaned into the direction of keeping it super toned down and resorted to fresh fruits as opposed to the traditional flowers because sticking to the usual norms is no fun.

Fortunately for me, I was blessed with a lot of back-up support because attending to a crying 8 month year old baby is no joke!

Also, just checking for a friend and by friend, I mean me, are hashtags still a thing?

It feels like I’ve lived a lifetime in your tiny presence, yet the days have slipped away, far too fast. There’s a sweet ache in watching you grow - your baby curls, your first steps, the way you laugh without care. I’m holding onto every moment, knowing that each passing day takes you a little further from my arms. But this is the dance of motherhood : holding you close while letting you go. My heart burst with pride for who you are becoming, yet quietly grieves the baby you once were.

Here’s to a profound year of parenthood- a year filled with sleepless nights, endless joy and a love so deep that it rewrote our hearts.

Happy first birthday, my love. May you always know how deeply you are cherished, today and all the days to come.

After years of making multiple smash cakes for other beautiful babies out there, there was no question in my mind that I had to whip up something for my little girl as well.
Also, let me pause for a sec because OMG how is my baby 1 already?! (cue the happy-sad tears)

I always knew that I wanted to make a homemade cake for her first birthday and I wanted it to be on the healthier side without any added sugar.

Considering how adamant I am about ensuring that my child steers away from sugar for as long as possible (irony, I’m well aware!), looking for a recipe that had zero sugar was no easy feat. Most recipes call for the addition of banana which is essentially the ‘sugar’ element for the cake.
So here we are, a banana cake with almond flour and unsweetened whipped cream with little bits of crushed freeze-dried raspberry.

As much as I would love to say that it was a hit, K was a wee bit confused and instead of indulging away, she kept herself occupied by ravaging through the cake with her hands. I would have personally preferred her mouth but oh well, alls well that ends well.

While I have been incredibly fortunate to have worked with such incredible individuals on their wedding cakes, these floral single-tiered beauts always hold such a special place in my heart and is definitely one for the books (or rather, my books atleast!)

My bestfriend was by far the easiest joy to work with (maybe, I’m just being biased 🙈)

I was provided with ample freedom to experiment and go absolutely bonkers (no joke!)

Her vision/theme for her wedding were bright colours, dance and fun.

We decided to steer away from the norm of tiered cakes and add in as much colour as we possibly could to resemble her bubbly and outgoing personality.

After numerous compliments from the bride, her mother and guests, I think we did alright 😋🙈
