I cooked a Sri Lankan Easter dinner inspired by my recent trip. My personal favourite was of course the Black Pork Curry but also included a lamb version of it, chicken curry, yellow rice and a rice puller, Baduma.
Dessert was an experiment; inspired by the Portuguese-Sri Lankan semolina Love Cake, the Easter Sugee was made with mixed spices, cinnamon, cashews and jaggery which required quite a bit of force to crack the block!

Thank you Sylvia from sayang me tea for this collaboration with the Reluctant Baker. A specially curated tea-pairing of longan, dates, rock sugar and pandan with similar ingredients in the Peranakan fruitcake. So each cake comes paired with two packs of tea, each good for a pot. Thank you Sylvia for your generosity. Happy Lunar New Year everyone and thank you for supporting the charity.
