So, they did a thing...
If you are ever in Thika, head on to Garissa road, past Posta Makongeni but before Landless. On your right, you will see Kivulini Apartments, and right next to its entrance sits Vibe Sip Cafe, the brain child of Bella Millar.
Vibe Sip Cafe represents many things to me. A visual representation of someone's dreams turning into reality, a manifestation of what resilience looks like, but my favorite is what it means to our daughters Zuri and Taji. You see, a father raising girls is not a walk in the park because we are men, and hopelessly under equipped to fully understand their experiences as ladies in waiting. Which is why them seeing their mother build something means the entire world to me. I can tell them every day that they can be anything in this life, but imagine the power of watching your mom run a business everyday! Seeing her smile as she welcomes clients, and showing them that there is honor in serving others and making their day with something as simple as a meal. Imagine little girls watching their mother demonstrate everything we as fathers would love our daughters to aspire to.
So yes, on your way out of Thika town towards landless, sits a monument to what power lies in the women in our lives, and the reward of resilience. Two years ago your world was rocked to the core, but today you stand victorious at the door of your new kingdom. It's an honor to stand aside and watch you live out every possible value I would love to see in these girls that mean the world to us.
Zurita Pastries has been quiet on these streets because she was was expanding, and we would love to share this small victories with you. At Vibe Sip Cafe, you can have a slice of your favorite cakes alongside freshly brewed coffee (come with a friend and get a buy 1 get 1 free offer every Monday), and a similar offer on burgers every Friday. Karibuni Vibe Sip Cafe, we would love to thank you in person for your continued support...
