Lumi Africrave was born from a deeply personal place.
A journey with hyperthyroidism changed how I looked at food —not just as something to eat, but as something that could either support healing or quietly make things harder.
When your hormones are out of balance, your body becomes sensitive. Energy crashes, inflammation, digestion issues, anxiety, weight changes—you feel it all. I quickly learned that what I put on my plate mattered every single day. That’s where gluten-free and sugar-free living became important for me.
🌾 Why gluten-free?
For many people, gluten can be inflammatory and heavy on digestion. Removing it helped me focus on foods that are gentler, nutrient-dense, and closer to how our ancestors ate—whole grains like sorghum and millet that nourish without stressing the body.
🍯 Why sugar-free?
Refined sugar causes blood sugar spikes, energy crashes, and inflammation. For a body already working overtime, that rollercoaster isn’t helpful. Choosing natural, low-impact foods brought more balance, steadier energy, and clarity.
🥛 Why dairy-free
A lot of people deal with leaky gut, IBS-like symptoms and poor nutrient absorption. Dairy is hard to digest for many adults (lactose intolerance is common), and gut irritation can increase inflammation, aggravate autoimmune activity, worsen symptoms like bloating, fatigue and anxiety. Dairy increase systemic inflammation.
Lumi Africrave is not about restriction. It’s about intentional nourishment. It’s about reclaiming indigenous African ingredients that fed generations before ultra-processed foods took over. It’s about baking, cooking, and living in a way that supports the body—not fights it.
🌾 Food can be comfort. Food can be culture. Food can be healing. Lumi Africrave exists to remind us of that. If you’re on a health journey, managing a condition, or simply choosing to eat better—this space is for you 🤍
