Debt cancelled (11)
Yesterday we spoke of the debt being cancelled. The process involves:
Elisha and the Widow’s Oil
(cf. 1 Kin. 17:14–16)
A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
ACTIVATING THE MIRACLE
This widow was in debt. How big is your debt, God is able to deal with it. Creditors were coming to take the widow's sons as slaves.
But in one day, God turned her lack into more than enough. Never allow yourself to be discouraged by even the worst tragedy. This woman's condition was the worst as they come.
Her miracle was not dead. It was waiting to be activated.
How can you activate a miracle;
1. PETITION GOD WITH JUSTIFIED FAITH
The woman petitioned God through the prophet Elisha.
She had justified reasons _ Her husband had served God and feared the Lord, but died leaving debt. 2 Kings 4:1
You must invest by working for God through service to mankind.
There was a prior investment by son of the prophet _ Her husband had sown into God’s kingdom. Our God is faithful and never forgets.
God answers cries that are rooted in covenant and desperation but justified by faith.
2. SIZE YOUR GOD, NOT YOUR PROBLEM
Exercise your faith in God , the widow believed the prophet’s word. You must Know His Word because God’s Word is the container for your miracle.
The other is to know the power of His Spirit __The oil that represents the Holy Spirit. Where the Spirit flows, there is provision. That provision should
be Claimed through a true prophetic word. The widow obeyed Elisha’s instruction to borrow empty jars.
Your God is bigger than your debt, your sickness, and your lack. Stop measuring God by your jar.
