Remembering our Covid 19 pandemic and its impact on young girls in Kenya. One of the hardest projects I have ever been involved. We all felt so powerless but had to do something:

Had the opportunity to visit Shoe4Africa children’s hospital in Eldoret, Kenya and the work that had been done so far is incredible. Listening to the vision of its leaders Toby Tanser and Chelimo Saina to complete the expansion of the hospital to a larger Pediatric Cancer Unit, burn unit, parent’s building was beyond inspiring. Oglah's Hope Foundation is committed to supporting these goals and following through until completion.
We are looking for partners that can make this life-changing commitment a reality. Contact us for more details.

Embracing Peace: A Journey of Transformation and Self-Discovery

In the tapestry of life, every thread tells a story, and as I reflect on my own journey, I find myself standing at a pivotal crossroads. It is a moment marked by clarity and intention, a time when the weight of fighting, hating, blaming, and holding onto pettiness has become too burdensome to carry. I’ve reached a point in my life where these negative emotions simply don’t matter anymore. Instead, I yearn for something deeper, something more fulfilling—an existence filled with love, happiness, and above all, peace.

As I share my personal journey with you, my hope is to inspire you to identify your own past and patterns, to reflect on the choices you make, and to find transformative ways to live your most impactful life. Life is a series of choices, and each decision shapes the narrative of our existence. It is in recognizing the power of these choices that we can begin to rewrite our stories.

I remember a time when I was consumed by the need to be liked, to fit into places and spaces that did not honor my true self. I sought validation in the approval of others, often at the expense of my own well-being. I fought battles that were never mine to win, clinging to relationships that drained my spirit rather than uplifted it. But through self-reflection, I began to understand that not everyone I wanted in my life wanted me in theirs.

Robert De Niro once said, “Not everyone you want in your life wants you in theirs. So don't burn yourself out trying to look good or do them favors when they really don't care if you're there or not.” This wisdom resonated deeply with me. It became a guiding principle as I began to shift my focus away from those who did not appreciate my presence and toward those who celebrated me for who I am. Life is too short to invest time and effort in people who are not right for you. Surrounding ourselves with those who value and support us is not just a preference; it is a necessity for our emotional and spiritual well-being.

What I long for now is to live fully, with my heart open wide. I want to experience joy in the simplest of moments—watching a sunset, sharing laughter with friends, or simply enjoying a quiet moment of solitude. I seek to be enveloped in love that is real and deep, a love that nourishes my soul and encourages me to flourish.

More than anything, I crave peace—the kind that brings quiet to my soul and warmth to my spirit. Peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is a state of being that allows us to embrace life’s beauty without fear or hesitation. It is a sanctuary where we can reflect on our choices, learn from our past, and grow into the individuals we aspire to be.

In this journey toward peace and fulfillment, I have discovered the importance of self-compassion. We are often our own harshest critics, holding onto past mistakes and regrets as if they define us. But the truth is, our past does not dictate our future. Each day presents a new opportunity to transform our lives, to let go of what no longer serves us, and to embrace the possibilities that lie ahead.

So, I invite you to embark on this journey of self-discovery with me. Take the time to identify the patterns in your life that may be holding you back. Reflect on the relationships you nurture—are they uplifting or draining? Are they filled with love and appreciation, or are they marked by resentment and obligation? As you assess these aspects of your life, allow yourself the grace to make changes. Release the need to please everyone and focus on those who truly appreciate your presence.

As I continue along this path, I am reminded that transformation is not a destination but a lifelong journey. It requires courage, vulnerability, and an unwavering commitment to oneself. The more we honor our true selves, the more we attract the people and experiences that resonate with our authentic essence.

In closing, I want to emphasize that the quest for happiness, love, and peace is not just a personal endeavor; it is a collective journey we share as human beings. Let us support one another in embracing our true selves, letting go of the past, and stepping boldly into the future. Together, we can cultivate a world where love and appreciation flourish, where each of us has the opportunity to live fully and authentically.

May you find the courage to embrace your journey, to seek out peace, and to surround yourself with those who uplift and inspire you. Remember, your life is a precious gift—live it boldly, with your heart open wide.

MESSAGE TO THE UPCOMING KENYA MISSION TRIP PARTICIPANTS:

Dear Adventurers,

As you embark on your journey to Kenya for your mission work, let the spirit of compassion and purpose guide your every step. You are about to embark on a profound and transformative experience, one that will not only touch the lives of those you encounter but also leave an indelible mark on your own hearts and souls.

In Kenya, you will witness the resilience, strength, and beauty of the human spirit in the face of adversity. You will come face to face with individuals who have endured hardships that may seem unimaginable, yet have found hope, joy, and a sense of community that transcends the challenges they face. They will teach you the true meaning of courage, determination, and gratitude.

Remember, the essence of your mission lies not only in the work you do but also in the connections you forge. Embrace every opportunity to listen, learn, and understand the stories of the people you meet. Each person you encounter has a unique tale to tell, a lesson to impart, and a perspective to share. Let their voices be heard, and their experiences be honored.

In the midst of your efforts, there may be moments of exhaustion, doubt, or frustration. But know that the impact you make, no matter how big or small, has the power to create a ripple effect of change. Your acts of kindness, compassion, and service will resonate far beyond the boundaries of time and space.

As you immerse yourselves in the local culture, remember to approach every encounter with an open heart and mind. Embrace the diversity that you encounter, for it is in these differences that we find the true tapestry of humanity. Seek to understand, appreciate, and celebrate the richness of Kenya's people, traditions, and customs.

Above all, remember that this journey is not only about what you can give but also about what you can receive. The experiences, lessons, and memories you gather in Kenya will forever shape the way you perceive the world, and perhaps even alter the course of your own lives.
So, go forth with passion, empathy, and an unwavering belief in the power of love and compassion. Be the bearers of hope, the instruments of change, and the messengers of unity. Let your actions speak volumes, and let the love you share become a guiding light in the lives of those you touch.
May your mission in Kenya be a transformative journey that fills your hearts with purpose, your souls with inspiration, and your lives with immeasurable joy. Safe travels, dear adventurers. The world eagerly awaits the beautiful impact you are about to make.

With boundless admiration,

Your fellow members in adventure!
