A few years ago, I started during a moment when the world felt uncertain.

Like many people, I was navigating a lot of change in my own life. Cooking became a way to reconnect, first through online classes, and eventually through the people who kept showing up at the table.

What I didn’t expect was where that path would lead.

Sicily caught me slowly.
First through the markets. Then the food. Then the people.

I realized something here that feels even more true today: the things we think are simple… sharing a meal, walking through a market, opening a bottle of wine with new friends, are actually the things that ground us when life feels uncertain.

Cook Eat Live Happy began as a way to connect people through food.

Today that connection has grown into something even bigger.

Through , I now have the privilege of welcoming guests for ten days at a time, not just to visit Sicily, but to experience the island the way it unfolds when you slow down.

The kind of moments that remind us what really matters.

If you’re curious about how began, I shared the full story on the blog

And if Sicily has been quietly calling you… you know where to find me.

Why do I shop the market?
Because food here begins with people. With understanding the seasons, the ingredients, and the traditions passed down through them.

Do you shop this way where you live?

The market is so much more than fresh ingredients.
It’s where community comes together.
Where recipes are shared, seasons are celebrated, and everyday life unfolds.

I fell in love with Sicily the moment I stepped into Capo Market. Within days, it felt like home.
Three years later, it feels like family.

This is what I love sharing with visitors.
Whether it’s your first time in Sicily or your tenth, the soul of a place reveals itself slowly, through conversations, familiar faces, and the rhythm of daily life. It’s here, among the stalls and stories, that you begin to truly know its people.

This is where the real Sicily begins. 💛

I didn’t move to Sicily for a picture-perfect life. I moved for moments like this.

Hands learning something new.
Laughter that comes easily.
A table that already feels welcoming.

Food and wine have a quiet way of opening people up here — to the place, and to each other. When I see the joy that comes from that connection, I’m reminded why I love hosting experiences this way.

As Tour Director of , my role is to share Sicily the way it was shared with me… quietly, generously, and around the table.

This is something guests say to me on almost every journey.

Sicily is widely known for its food.
What’s less understood is how established and regionally diverse its wine culture is.

Wine here isn’t an accessory.
It’s part of daily life, tied directly to what’s grown, cooked, and shared.

That’s why every Gems of Sicily tour includes wine experiences across multiple regions. Not just tastings, but visits with producers to understand how wine, food, and culture have evolved together on the island.

Once guests experience Sicily this way, the surprise disappears. The wine simply makes sense.

Like a kid in a 🍬 store…. I’ll never forget my first time on the top floor of in Milan. I went up “just for a quick look” and instantly lost track of time. Everywhere I looked, beautiful Italian ingredients, shelves of regional specialties, the smell of espresso, people lingering over plates of pasta, pizza and dessert.

If you love food, this floor is a must. Incredible ingredients to bring home, fantastic restaurants, coffee that keeps you wandering, and even gelato that convinces you to stay just a little longer.

P.S. this also happens to be the best spot to view the Duomo 😉

What is your must have food item to bring back from Italy? Or are you like me and have a separate suitcase just for all the food you bring back? 😜🧳🥫🍪
