Grade 1 Students Meet Chef Tanvi: An Expert Talk

As part of their “Journeys Near and Far” theme, Grade 1 students welcomed Chef Tanvi, a passionate baker and founder of Mad Batter. Chef Tanvi shared fascinating stories about the origins of chocolate, Margherita pizza, and cupcakes (once called “Fairy Cakes”). The students were thrilled to hear these tales and discover how the names and flavors of these foods came to be. Chef Tanvi’s expert talk not only enriched their understanding of culinary journeys but also sparked curiosity about the fascinating connections between history, culture, and food.

What an absolute pleasure talking to the lil ones and the hugs melted me completely

For a little cutie’s first birthday this is what all we whipped up!! A decadent two tiered chocolate cake which matched their doll theme perfectly! And obviously ! We are obsessed with the modelling chocolate doll and the wafer paper fans!! Then of course the gorgeous rosey boxes for return favours with banana walnut loafs, pecan almond chocolates and BBQ almonds (courtsey ) and some assorted colourful princess themed cupcakes! Ohh the smiles! They make our day and make all the hard work so so worth it!

Baby shark doo doo dooo dooooo doooooooo! What an all time favourite for everyone and what fun we had designing this one! And as always ! The sharks were edible prints on wafer paper with chocolate handcrafted sea shells and modelling chocolate fauna! This one really made our hearts sing!!
